Old Maps & Prints, Bangkok is in the business of buying and selling classic maps, original prints, engraving, books, bonds generally printed before the turn of the 20th century and dealing with Asia particularly the countries of Southeast Asia, namely Thailand (Siam), Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Burma, China, Japan, Malaysia and Singapore, rare vintage posters and fine arts.

Joerg Kohler was born near Duesseldorf, Germany. He studied History of Arts at the University of Bochum. In 1977 he joined the Antiquarian Book- and Print shop of Hans Marcus in Duesseldorf as a trainee. There and at the Amsterdam branch at the Keizersgracht he got a comprehensive and hands on introduction to old maps and engravings, including colouring, paper and paper restoration, bookbinding and picture framing. In 1980 Joerg was recommended to Robert Douwma (Prints & Maps) Ltd, London. He had the honour to work under Tony Campbell and learned about valuation and cataloguing. In London he made friends in the antiquarian print business and many of them are today regular suppliers of Old Maps & Prints.
In 1982 Joerg made his first trip to Asia, and particularly Thailand. He fell deeply in love with the country and became interested in maps and prints of Southeast Asia. Joerg Kohler is married to a Thai and since 1992 a resident of the Kingdom of Thailand.
